Splitting US TV ads into quartiles by Neutral response shows dullness only destroys positive feeling. As Neutrality climbs from 32% to 62%, Happiness falls from 43% to 21% and Surprise from 14% to 8%. Negative emotions including anger, contempt and disgust stay essentially constant.
