Expected score = (column total x row total) / grand total
PrincipleBrand Strategy
Expected score = (column total x row total) / grand total
To test whether customers already credit your brand with a CEP, build a brand by CEP matrix from a pick-any survey and calculate an expected score for every cell as (column total x row total) / grand total. Actual minus expected, converted to percentage points, is the size of the brand's mental advantage or disadvantage on that cue.
