Orange WoMen's Football - denying an audience assumption to defeat dullness
Orange's 2023 Women's World Cup ad by Marcel showed famous male players making terrific plays, then revealed through VFX and deepfake technology that the footage was of female athletes all along. Denying a key audience assumption in order to surprise them produced a 4.7 Star result with football fans and the Entertainment for Sport Grand Prix at Cannes Lions 2024.
